Registration rules for .de

Can I register a .de if I do not live in Germany?
Yes, DENIC accepts owners from other countries. Its rules do, however, allow it to require an owner without a German address to appoint an authorised representative with an address in Germany for official correspondence. Check the requirements at the time of registration.
Why does DNS setup matter for .de?
